A Two-Minute Reset Between Ranked Matches

Do not carry the previous scoreboard into the next queue. Close the match, name one controllable lesson, and reset your body before deciding to play again.

Why this matters

A reset is not pretending the loss did not matter. It gives the useful lesson a place to live while stopping frustration from choosing the next match for you.

Three decisions to clean up

Change physical state

Stand, breathe slowly, and release your grip. A small physical break interrupts the posture and tension built during the match.

Write one sentence

Name one controllable behaviour from the match. Avoid teammate verdicts and long reviews while your judgment is still hot.

Choose the next queue

Ask whether you can follow the cue you just wrote. If not, take a longer break instead of using another match to repair your mood.

Use it in your next session

    • Leave the post-match screen.
    • Take four slow breaths away from the controls.
    • Write one cue, then make a deliberate queue decision.

Review the pattern

Track matches started while angry, rushed, or distracted. Reducing those queues can improve consistency before any mechanical practice changes.

Do not judge the habit by one match result. Look for cleaner decisions across several repeated situations, then make the cue slightly more demanding once it becomes automatic.

Use UpForge to review your matches, find repeated decision patterns, and turn them into a focused practice plan.
