Why this matters
There is no universally correct wave state. The right choice depends on where the junglers can be, what you need to buy, and whether the map needs your move.
Three decisions to clean up
Push for a window
Shove when the cleared wave buys time to recall, ward, move first, or pressure a structure. Pushing without a follow-up only moves you farther from safety.
Hold to deny
A controlled wave near your side can reduce danger and make farm expensive for the opponent. Protect the state from unnecessary ability damage.
Reset before the map asks
Recall early enough to spend and return before an objective fight. A late recall turns earned gold into an empty inventory slot during the important play.
Use it in your next session
- Choose one lane phase to review.
- Pause before each major wave decision.
- State the next action the wave is meant to enable.
Review the pattern
Judge the wave by what happened next: safe farm, a purchase, first movement, or avoidable exposure. The minions are setting up that outcome.
Do not judge the habit by one match result. Look for cleaner decisions across several repeated situations, then make the cue slightly more demanding once it becomes automatic.
