Why this matters
Crosshair placement is a prediction skill. The cleaner your movement and angle order, the less distance your mouse must travel when contact arrives.
Three decisions to clean up
Choose one threat
Use cover to remove every angle except the one you are clearing. Perfect head height cannot rescue a swing that exposes three defenders.
Pre-aim from landmarks
Map boxes, wall seams, and common cover give stable height references. Use them before the peek instead of correcting after an enemy appears.
Reset after every clear
Once an angle is safe, place the crosshair for the next one before moving. Letting it drift into open space adds a new flick to every fight.
Use it in your next session
- Walk one map route in a custom lobby.
- Name each angle before exposing it.
- Repeat the route at full movement speed without skipping the crosshair reset.
Review the pattern
On each lost duel, pause at first visibility. Check head height, distance from the expected position, and how many enemies could see you.
Do not judge the habit by one match result. Look for cleaner decisions across several repeated situations, then make the cue slightly more demanding once it becomes automatic.
