The item shop is one of the most intimidating parts of Deadlock for new players. Dozens of options three categories tier-based pricing. Here is everything you actually need to know.
The Three Categories
Weapon increases gun damage fire rate bullet lifesteal and related stats. Heroes that deal most damage through shooting want Weapon items.
Vitality increases health regeneration shields and healing received. All heroes benefit from some Vitality but tanks and bruisers prioritise it.
Spirit increases ability power cooldown reduction and ability-related effects. Heroes whose damage comes primarily from abilities want Spirit items.
Every hero leans toward at least one category. Check the recommended build tab in the shop to see which yours favours.
Item Tiers
- Tier 1 at 500 Souls - buy early
- Tier 2 at 1250 Souls - solid mid-lane pickups
- Tier 3 at 3000 Souls - power spikes that change fights
- Tier 4 at 6200 Souls - late-game defining items
You can equip four items per category (12 total). Sell Tier 1 items later to make room for upgrades.

Building for Your Hero
Infernus: Weapon plus Vitality. Fire rate bullet lifesteal and enough health to survive playing in the midline.
Grey Talon: Weapon plus Spirit. His abilities deal Spirit damage - build both types Spirit early Weapon late.
Mo and Krill: Vitality plus Weapon. Health and regen first with Weapon items to make Burrow threatening.
Kelvin: Spirit plus Vitality. Cooldown reduction and Spirit power to keep abilities cycling.
Haze: Weapon plus Spirit. Sleep Dagger scales with Spirit Bullet Dance with Weapon. Build both Spirit first.
The Most Common Mistake
Buying randomly across all three categories. A Spirit hero with four Weapon items has thrown away their entire scaling model.
Before every purchase ask: What does this hero want to do? Does this item make that better?
