Deadlock has over 20 heroes and picking randomly is giving yourself an uphill battle before the game starts. This tier list reflects the current meta rated on raw power ease of play team impact and late-game scaling.

S Tier

Infernus - The best damage carry right now. Fire DoT punishes poor positioning he scales cleanly with Weapon items and his ultimate locks down targets for near-guaranteed kills. Forgiving for newer players oppressive in experienced hands.

Mo and Krill - Best frontliner in the game. Massive health pool point-and-click crowd control and Sand Blast that threatens squishier heroes at any stage. Wins laning and does not fall off. Start here if you want to learn teamfighting.

Kelvin - Best support. Arctic Beam slows Frost Grenade zones and Ice Path changes the geometry of every fight. His value is team-wide - he makes everyone around him harder to kill.

A Tier

Grey Talon - Long-range burst damage with a global kill threat via Guided Owl. Requires good aim but rewards it heavily.

Shiv - One of the best duelists. Scales with kills builds rage mid-fight and makes extended engagements increasingly dangerous.

Haze - Weak early dominant late. Sleep Dagger into Bullet Dance is a free kill on anyone caught in it. Get your items and you win games.

Wraith - Fast mobile consistent damage. Card Trick provides reliable burst and her ultimate teleports enemies into your team.

B Tier

Vindicta - High single-target damage at range. Terrifying in good hands dies to anything that can close distance in average hands.

Pocket - Highest burst potential if you land his combo. Hard to play rewarding when mastered.

Dynamo - Weak individually essential in organised play. Singularity is one of the best teamfight ultimates in the game.

McGinnis - Strong point defence and lane pressure. Falls off in open-field fights.

C Tier

Warden - Outclassed by Mo and Krill at almost everything he does.

Viscous - Slippery but low damage output. Rarely carries.

Paradox - Extremely high ceiling extremely low floor. Requires deep game knowledge. Do not start here.

What to Actually Play

New to Deadlock: Mo and Krill or Infernus. Both are forgiving impactful and teach core mechanics without punishing you for skill limitations.

20 plus hours in: Shiv Grey Talon or Haze depending on whether you prefer brawling sniping or late-game carrying.
